A Big Big Happy Birthday DeviantArt!!

Happy Birthday Godliek :D

This is a major cause for celebration for all the deviants. Without this platform in place we, artists, known, professionals or not,  wouldn't have grown or found an audience. I personally would like to take this time to thank all the founders and helpers who placed together DeviantArt.

I for one has not been on DA for long, but for the past 16 months that I've been here I've seen great improvements in my work. When I first joined I only did manipulation following a tutorial to the T. It must be said that back then I would not have called myself an artist cos I brought nothing new to the work done. It was just something I did to pass time and almost never published them

After browsing quite an amount of tutorial journals and getting advise by other fellow deviants I started to see that I no longer had to follow a tutorial from beginning to end, I rather used them to learn individual techniques and them apply them to my own work. From there on I started to make progress as an artist. I was in better control of the final product I envisioned. A few months ago I started to provide stock images since I enjoy photography as well. I like to think of this of a way of giving back to the art community. Hopefully someday I'll be able to do my manipulation using only my stocks.

The thing I love the most about DA, is that it celebrate art on a large scale. You can find almost every form of art here and this provides an endless source of inspiration. Sometimes I just can't keep up with my mind. Thank you DeviantArt for your role in my life!

Little red riding hood by Sacm88

"Little Red Riding Hood" is one of the few work I made, following a tutorial from beginning to end. I never destroyed or got rid of it so that I'll be reminded of the journey I've made and where I came from.

The old woman who lived in a shoe by Sacm88

"The old woman who lived in a shoe" is one of the first deviation where I looked up tutorials for individual techniques, such as lighting up the windows and creating a sunset.

"Underneath it all" is my one and only collaboration with one of my photographer friend, who provided me with this exclusive background.

Do you know who I am? by Sacm88

While working on "Do you know who I am?" I learnt a new technique with which I drew the scars. It was a real challenge.

  The balancing act by Sacm88

"The Balancing Act" is my pride. It's my first deviation that won first place in the many contests I took part in.
